  2. (intransitive, figurative) to grub, to nuzzle the soil with one's snout (of swine and other animals)

Usage notes[edit]

In the modern language, this verb has been superseded by its derivative гму́ря (gmúrja), гму́ркам (gmúrkam), formed under the influence of гу́рам (gúram, to bathe, to submerge in water).
