Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Classical Persian ذو‌الحجه (zūlhijja), from Arabic ذُو الحِجَّة (ḏū l-ḥijja). By surface analysis, Arabic ذُو (ḏū, possessed of) +‎ Arabic الحِجَّة (al-ḥijja, the hajj).
