Borrowed from Arabic رَبِيعُ الأَوَّل (rabīʕu l-ʔawwal). By surface analysis, Arabic رَبِيع (rabīʕ, spring, Rabi) +‎ Arabic الأَوَّل (al-ʔawwal, first).
