ܥܲܠܘܿܟ݂ ܘܥܲܠ ܒܲܝܬܘܿܟ݂ • (ˁalōḵ w-ˁal baytōḵ)
- A response to ܥܹܐܕ݂ܘܿܟ݂ ܒܪܝܼܟ݂ܵܐ (ˁēḏōḵ brīḵā, “May your holiday be blessed”), a greeting said on holidays
Usage notes[edit]
- This is said to a single male; the feminine singular is ܥܲܠܵܟ݂ܝ ܘܥܲܠ ܒܲܝܬܵܟ݂ (ˁallāḵ w-ˁal baytāḵ), and the plural is ܥܲܠܟ݂ܘܿܢ ܘܥܲܠ ܒܲܝܬܟ݂ܘܿܢ (ˁalḵōn w-ˁal baytḵōn).
- A fuller form of this phrase is ܥܲܠܘܿܟ݂ ܘܥܲܠ ܒܲܝܬܘܿܟ݂ ܘܥܲܠ ܟܠ ܡܫ̈ܝܼܚܵܝܹܐ (ˁalōḵ w-ˁal baytōḵ w-ˁal kul mšīḥāyē, “Upon you and upon your household and upon all Christians.”)
