Inherited from Sanskrit উড্ডযতে (uḍḍayate). Cognate with Sylheti ꠃꠠ (uṛ), Bengali উড়া (uṛa), Nepali उड (uḍ), Hindustani اُڑ (uṛ) / उड़ (uṛ), Marathi उड (uḍ).
