Etymology[edit]
Pronunciation[edit]
Noun[edit]
bokhandel c
- (countable) bookstore (a store that sells books)
- (uncountable) the act of selling books
Usage notes[edit]
- Sometimes, a suppletive plural form boklådor (plural of the near-synonymous boklåda (“bookshop”)) is found. This was previously a recommended plural form, as the normal plural form bokhandlarna can also be the pluralform of bokhandlare (“bookseller”). This recommendation is no longer upheld.
