Pela[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From mi̠³⁵ ((in compounds) mother; female) +‎ pʰa³⁵ ((in compounds) father; male); ultimately from Proto-Sino-Tibetan *mi (female; girl; feminine suffix) and Proto-Sino-Tibetan *p ~ ba (male; father; third personal pronoun) respectively. Cognate with Burmese မိဘ (mi.bha., parents). Compare Lhao Vo myhi” pho”.
