Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘤𑘨𑘪 (barava), 𑘤𑘨𑘪𑘹𑘽 (baraveṃ)[1] (compare 𑘪𑘨 (vara)[1]), from Sanskrit वरम् (varam).[2][3]
