From Sanskrit वसुधा (vasudhā, land; soil; earth; etc, literally bearer of wealth), from वसु (vasu, wealth; property; etc) + धा (dhā, bearer; maintainer; etc); equivalent to Thai พสุ +‎ ธา (taa). Cognate with Khmer ពសុធា (pɔɔsothiə).
