  新教育(しんけういく)は、生徒(せいと)の自発的(じはつてき)な活動(くわつどう)を促(うなが)す環境(くわんきやう)の設定(せつてい)において、有効適切(いうかうてきせつ)であつたことは事実(じじつ)であらう。しかしそれは、譬(たと)へて云(い)へば、我々(われわれ)学究(がくきう)が、思索(しさく)し研究(けんきう)するに相応(ふさわ)しい書斎(しよさい)の準備(じゆんび)が出来(でき)たやうなものである。
