From Persian انجیر (anjir, “fig”) + 果 (guǒ), doublet of 阿駔/阿驵, 阿馹/阿驲, and 阿驛/阿驿 (āyì).

From Middle Chinese 映日果 (ʔˠiæŋH ȵiɪt̚ kuɑX, “fig”), a transliteration of Persian انجیر (anjir, “fig”) + Middle Chinese 果 (kuɑX, “fruit”). The reading いちじく (ichijiku) is possibly an irregular Japanese rendering of the Chinese pronunciation.
