Etymology

A sentence-final emphatic assertive particle. From a netizen transformation of 有沒有／有没有 (yǒu méi yǒu, “to have or not have; is there ...?”). Popularized through a post on Renren entitled 學法語的人你傷不起啊！／学法语的人你伤不起啊！ (“People who learn French, you can't take it!”)
