Etymology[edit]
From the Classic of Poetry, poem 264 (《詩經·大雅·瞻卬》):
- 懿厥哲婦,為梟為鴟。婦有長舌,維厲之階。 [Pre-Classical Chinese, trad.]

- Yì jué zhé fù, wéi xiāo wéi chī. Fù yǒu chángshé, wéi lì zhī jiē. [Pinyin]
