  1. (opera) Yuyao qiang, one of the four major singing styles, originating in Yuyao, Ningbo, northeastern Zhejiang province, east-central China, which was popularly used in local opera forms in the eastern Chinese provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang since the late Ming Dynasty.
