@Bhagadatta, AryamanA: According to CDIAL (1611 īdŕ̊śa), Hindi ऐसा (aisā), Old Marathi ऐस (aisa) and Marathi असे (ase) are all from Sanskrit ईदृश (īdṛśa) with the initial a being analogically derived from तादृश (tādṛśa), यादृश (yādṛśa) and their descendants.

Dasa ([सं० ईदृश, अप० अइम]) and Date ([सं. ईद्दश; प्रा. अइस; म. असा]) both agree with the derivation from Sanskrit ईदृश (īdṛśa). McGregor ([īdr̥śaka-; × tādr̥śa-, &c.]) also agrees with the analogical derivation.
Tulpule says [Sk. etādṛśa]. However, Tulpule's etymologies may not always be accurate since the authors say 'this is not intended to be an etymological dictionary'.

Should the entries for Konkani अशें (aśẽ), Marathi असे (ase) and Lua error in Module:parameters at line 95: Parameter 1 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "pmh" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF. be changed so that they are consistent with CDIAL? Kutchkutch (talk) 09:50, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Kutchkutch: You mean you want to update the etymological information on these pages? Sure thing, go ahead. -- Bhagadatta (talk) 10:24, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Bhagadatta: Yes, thanks. I was just wondering whether you had a compelling reason for choosing Sanskrit एतादृश (etādṛśa) over ईदृश (īdṛśa) as the Sanskrit etymon of Konkani अशें (aśẽ) and Marathi असे (ase), but if not then I'll change it to ईदृश (īdṛśa). @Kutchkutch: No compelling reason. This entry was created when I used to read the Old Marathi dictionary a lot -- Bhagadatta (talk) 10:50, 10 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
