जळ

@Inqilābī जळ appears to be rare, obsolete or dialectal etc. perhaps due to Sanskritisation or to reduce similarity with the verb जळणे (jaḷṇe). The ळ-form appears to be in current usage in Gujarati as જળ (જળસીમા, જળ ચક્ર) and Oriya ଜଳ (ଜଳଚର). For etymology/descendants trees, perhaps Marathi जळ (Modi 𑘕𑘯) could be considered as an inherited term while जल could be considered as a learned borrowing, even if this may not be true for Gujarati or Oriya.
