@माधवपंडित A bit late now, but Punjabi has a special letter ੱ ( ), the consonant doubler. So jaḍḍhṇā is ਜੱਢਣਾ (jaḍḍhaṇā), the next consonant ḍh is lengthened to ḍḍh. —Aryaman ^{(मुझसे बात करो)} 18:30, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

@Aryamanarora: Thanks! Does this Punjabi word exist btw? And is it really from यभति (yabhati)? Turner's comparitive Indo-Aryan dictionary seems to be the only one that lists this word. -- mādhavpaṇḍit (talk) 01:22, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

@माधवपंडित Transliteration looks great! Thanks for doing it. Two things to consider in this word:

There might be a rule for 'व' to be 'v' or 'w' (व allophony), but the existence of such a rule is a bit uncertain and no other articles currently use such a rule so it can be ignored just like in Hindi. See User_talk:Aryamanarora#.2F.CA.8B.2F_allophones for User:Aryamanarora's opinion.

DSAL Turner confirms that this word has 'j̈h' and not 'jh'

And as always with Marathi verbs, the suffix '-णे' indicating that the verb is in the infinitive form should be transliterated as '-ṇe' and not '-ṇẽ', which is the older, outdated nasalised spelling sometimes used by dictionaries.
