Etymology[edit]

It's not exactly etymology, but the constituent characters point out the original meaning of the word: ancestral village, the location of the tombs of one's ancestors requiring ritual observance. Somewhat similar but not at all identical with 'hometown.' Need someone with access to a comprehensive Ch/En dictionary to source it for me, though. -116.231.69.173 08:29, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
