Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Mon-Khmer *t₂nɟuun, an infixed form of *t₂ɟun ~ *t₂ɟuun (“to bend knees”); cognate with Mon ဂဇုန် (həcùn, “to sit; to lie; to crouch”).
