First attested at the end of Chapter 70 of Romance of the Three Kingdoms:

激將法少年不若老年人 [Classical Chinese, trad.]
激将法少年不若老年人 [Classical Chinese, simp.]

Qǐng jiāng xū xíng jījiāngfǎ, shàonián bùruò lǎoniánrén. [Pinyin]
