Etymology[edit]
The street was renamed after Roman Ongpin's surname. The surname is from Hokkien 王彬 (Ông Pin), the surname and part of the given name of the Hokkien Chinese name of Roman Ongpin's father, Simon Ongpinco, known in Hokkien as 王翼彬 (Ông Ia̍k-pin).
