Antonyms[edit]

Are there any for thirsty? Smiddle / TC@ 19:29, 28 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, but they are rare: (deprecated template usage) unthirsty, (deprecated template usage) nonthirsty, and (deprecated template usage) thirstless. Equinox 12:39, 24 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

thirsty[edit]

Two senses seem dubious to me: (i) "Having a physical demand for satiation of basic needs." ("After all that work I am really thirsty."); surely this only refers to the "basic need" of fluid intake and is therefore the same as the sense "Needing to drink"?; (ii) "Having a deeply felt need for psychological attainment": seems like a needlessly specialized duplicate of "Craving for something." Definition 4 references a common slang use of the word, but it doesn't really feel sufficient as a definition, since it consists entirely of a more obscure term that is also ideologically charged. I would fix it myself, but I'm not really sure how to define it! — This unsigned comment was added by Elium2 (talkcontribs) at 11:44, 15 February 2018‎.

I already fixed it before you posted here. I think it's okay now, although there's probably still room for improvement. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 06:03, 15 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
