From Zhan Guo Ce:

寡人千里比肩而立百世隨踵 [Classical Chinese, trad.]
寡人千里比肩而立百世随踵 [Classical Chinese, simp.]
From: Zhanguo Ce, circa 5th – 3rd centuries BCE
Guǎrén wén zhī, qiānlǐ ér yī shì, shì bǐjiān'érlì, bǎishì ér yī shèng, ruò suízhǒng ér zhì yě. [Pinyin]
I have heard that if there is one scholar every thousand li, it is [as if] they were standing shoulder next to shoulder; if there is one wise man every hundred years, it is as if they were coming foot following foot.
