Phono-semantic compound (形聲/形声, OC *loŋʔ) : semantic 𧾷 (“foot”) + phonetic 勇 (OC *loŋʔ).
Etymology[edit]
Compare Khmer ប្លោង (plaong, “to leap over; to throw upward”) (Schuessler, 2007). Perhaps related to 逾 (OC *lo, “to exceed; to cross over”) and 溶 (OC *loŋ, “much water”) (ibid.).
